1. Who we are

BrokerShield ("we", "us") operates getbrokershield.com and the BrokerShield service. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and your choices. Contact: [email protected].

2. Data we collect

  • Account and contact data — name, email address, company name, and information you submit through forms (e.g., trial signup, checklist download, contact messages).
  • Usage data — basic technical logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) used for security and to improve the Service.
  • Service data — carrier identifiers (MC/DOT numbers) you look up and the dossiers generated for your account. Carrier data itself originates from public government sources and generally relates to businesses, not private individuals.
  • Payment data — handled entirely by our merchant of record, Paddle. We never receive or store your full card details. See Paddle's privacy policy for how they process payment data.

3. How we use data

  • To provide and operate the Service, including generating and archiving your dossiers.
  • To respond to your requests and provide support.
  • To send you the resources you request (e.g., the compliance checklist) and, with your consent or as permitted by law, relevant product updates. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link.
  • To secure, debug, and improve the Service.

We do not sell your personal data.

4. Legal bases

Where laws such as the GDPR apply, we process data to perform our contract with you, for our legitimate interests in operating and securing the Service, with your consent where required (e.g., marketing), and to comply with legal obligations.

5. Sharing

We share data only with service providers needed to run the Service:

  • Paddle — payments, invoicing, and tax compliance (merchant of record).
  • Cloudflare — website hosting, security, and data storage infrastructure.
  • Email providers — to deliver transactional and requested emails.

We may disclose data if required by law or to protect our rights, users, or the public.

6. Retention

Account data is kept while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards. Dossier archives are retained per your plan's retention commitment (up to 7 years) because retention is the product's purpose. Lead and contact data is kept until you ask us to delete it or it is no longer needed.

7. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Email [email protected] and we will respond within 30 days. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.

8. Security

Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and stored with reputable infrastructure providers. No system is perfectly secure; we will notify affected users of any breach as required by law.

9. Cookies

We use only essential cookies and privacy-respecting analytics. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

10. Children

The Service is for businesses and is not directed to children under 16.

We may update this policy; material changes will be announced by email or on this page with an updated effective date.
